The Evidence the Critics Ignore
How do you know that the hadith aren’t just made-up stories, and that the Qur’an itself has been preserved?
Many Muslims today keep hearing from voices online that the hadith are unreliable. That they were collected centuries after the Prophet ﷺ. That a lot were fabricated. That the Qur’an is enough and the hadith can be set aside.
The result is this. The very source that should give you certainty about who the Prophet ﷺ was is being turned into a source of doubt.
Islam is a historical religion. In fact, it is the only historical religion. Other religions make up myths and invent stories to justify their faith and control people’s lives. Classical Muslim scholars did the opposite. They developed the most rigorous historical method that the world has ever seen, based on isnād (the Muslim chain of transmission) and mass-transmission (tawātur). But today this method has been largely forgotten, and the isnād has been reduced to a list of dead names.
Hadith on Trial: The Evidence the Critics Ignore brings it back to life. It teaches you how to use the hadith themselves to prove that Islam is true, and shows you how the modern attacks on hadith fall apart under this method. You’ll see the isnād the way the muḥaddithūn did: as a chain of living people, each with their own story, through which the hadith text moved. Analyzed properly, those stories not only confirm the truth of the hadith but reveal its meaning.
Two things make this course different from any other course on hadith.
First, it teaches you the actual skill of reading an isnād. Not just the terms, not just hadith texts read aloud, but the skill of seeing what is happening inside the chain of transmission. There is no English course that teaches this. Even in Arabic it is rare.
